I let go of the need to say ‘Yes’

Letting go of the need to say ‘Yes’ was part of yesterday’s positive thought.

I think about things I should do and/or I think I should want to do. There are the things I guess other people might expect me to do. And there are the things I just don’t want to do but agreed to. In reality sometimes we put this pressure on ourselves. One simple yet powerful word ‘No’ instead of ‘yes’ can relieve this pressure. Plus realizing that the world around us won’t fall apart if we say No. We have choice and maybe we just need to remember that.

Quotes on Yes:

“Half of the troubles of this life can be traced to saying yes too quickly and not saying no soon enough.” ~Josh Billings

“A ‘No’ uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a ‘Yes’ merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble.” – Mahatma Gahndi

“Learn to say ‘no’ to the good so you can say ‘yes’ to the best.” – John C. Maxwell

“The oldest, shortest words – ‘yes’ and “no’ – are those which require the most thought.” – Pythagoras

“The art of leadership is saying no, not saying yes. It is very easy to say yes.” – Tony Bair
